USG support ends with UniFi Network 11

HostiFi

Hi!

We wanted to let you know that Ubiquiti is ending official support for the UniFi Security Gateway (USG) devices pretty soon. UniFi Network 10.6 is the final release that supports the legacy USG gateways and UniFi Network 11 onwards will not support them.

What's changing

  • UniFi Network 10.6 is the last version that can manage the USG, USG-Pro-4 and USG-XG-8 devices. Ubiquiti already lists these three as legacy and no new software or security updates will be available.

  • With UniFi Network 11 and later, USG devices can no longer be configured or adopted. Existing devices will continue to work with current configurations, but new changes are not supported.

  • Also, UniFi OS Server has now replaced the older UniFi Network Server, as of Network 11.

What to do

  • Replace your USG with a UniFi Next-Gen Gateway (UXG). The UXG line (UXG-Lite, UXG-Pro, UXG-Max, UXG-Fiber and UXG-Enterprise) is designed to be managed by a separate controller, so it works with your HostiFi-hosted server. For the gateways that are replacing the USG lineup, click here.

  • Don't buy from the "Cloud Gateways" section (UDM, UCG and similar). Those have the UniFi controller built in and don't integrate with a HostiFi-hosted controller the same way. We've seen customers buy a UDM by mistake and have to return it for a UXG.
